The Angler

At the time of this print, I was in school again, stressed out, and feeling creatively bankrupt. Putting pen to paper seemed futile, but during my endless doomscrolling that I stumbled upon a post where this guy said "Have art block? Draw a fish."

I said yeah ok dude whatever, checked the comments and saw countless people saying this worked for them, so I gave it a try, and this angler fish design was born.

To me, this is one of my favorite pieces. I have an attachment to it because this "Fish Theory" really worked. Perhaps it's because fish have a simple and organic shape that you can take artistic liberties with? Maybe it's the simple colors that you can bend and twist to make something pop? Who knows?

It worked and this was the result.
